Chennai: Filmmaker Seenu Ramasamy today alleged that he has been receiving death treats after he gave a call to Vijay Sethupathi to not act in Muthiah Muralitharan bio-pic.

Seeking the intervention of Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami, Seenu Ramasamy, said, “I am receiving abusive messages, death threats in WhatsApp and my social media accounts”.

“An attempt is being created to show me as an enemy to Vijay Sethupathi. After my request, Vijay Sethupathi told me that he liked the story and hence he agreed to act. But confessed that he knew all background stories only later”.

“I requested Vijay Sethupathi not to win the wrath of Tamils. But, it is shocking to see such threats to me. I know to take films that speak politics. But I am confused about politics within cinema”, he said.
