Chennai: With the State government expected to announce lockdown relaxations today, Tamilnadu Education Minister K A Sengottaiyan today said that there is no chance of reopening schools anytime soon.
Schools in the State were remained closed since March in view of the Covid-19 induced lockdown to prevent spread of the virus and students are attending online classes for the past few months.
Sengottaiyan recently held a meeting with senior officials about the reopening of schools.
Sources said that senior officials from the education department took part in the meeting held at the Secretariat.
“School Education Secretary Dheeraj Kumar, Commissioner Venkatesh, Director Kannappan, Primary School Education Director Palanisamy took part in the meeting,” sources said.
