Washington: Democratic party nominee Joe Biden has overtaken Donald Trump in the all important state of Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvania has 20 electoral votes and if Biden wins Pennsylvania, he wins the White House.
“I had such a big lead in all of these states late into election night, only to see the leads miraculously disappear as the days went by. Perhaps these leads will return as our legal proceedings move forward!” Trump said and added that Biden should not wrongfully claim President’s office.
Biden is moving closer to the 270 Electoral College votes needed to win the presidency. He has widened his lead against President Donald Trump by over 19,500 votes in key battleground state Pennsylvania. Biden may further widen his lead as there were 102,541 more mail ballots that needed to be counted, including many from Allegheny County, a Democratic area that is home to Pittsburgh, and the Democratic stronghold of Philadelphia County.
Biden continues to lead in Arizona, Georgia and Nevada. Going by the current trend, the US elections 2020 appears to be inching closer toward the outcome with Biden as the President-elect. A candidate needs to win 270 electoral votes to capture the US presidency.
The election is slipping away from Trump, who has won only 214 votes so far, according to a projection by The Associated Press (AP). Trump is leading in North Carolina, a State that could give him 15 electoral votes, but needs to hold on to the three other States as well to win.
