Chennai: Even before the impact created by Cyclone Nivar is yet to recede, afresh deep depression is brewing over the Bay of Bengal as per officials at the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
According to officials, Bay of Bengal is likely to churn out a fresh low pressure area around Sunday and increase the chances of rain over Tamil Nadu and Puducherry between 1 and 3 December.
This time, rainfall activity may largely be concentrated in south Tamilnadu, the India Meteorological Department said.
Deputy Director General of Meteorology, Chennai, S Balachandran said , the system was likely to intensify into a depression later.
“A low pressure area is likely to form over southeast Bay of Bengal during the next 48 hours. It is very likely to intensify into a depression on 30 November and move towards the Tamilnadu coast. As a result, there will be widespread rains in Tamilnadu and neighbouring Puducherry between December 1 and 3”, he said.
