‘Weakened’ Burevi to bring rains to south TN

Chennai: The cyclonic storm ‘Burevi’ has further weakened into a low pressure and lay centred over Gulf of Mannar.

Met office on Sunday said the well marked low pressure area has weakened into a low pressure area over Gulf of Mannar.

Under its influence, heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places over Ramanathapuram, Thoothukudi, Sivaganga and Virudhunagar districts of Tamilnadu for the next 48 hrs.

Thunderstorm with lightning is likely to occur at isolated places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal area and at isolated places over south Tamilnadu during the same period.

The forecast for Chennai city is that the sky condition is likely to be partly cloudy. Thunderstorm with light to moderate rain is likely to occur in some areas.
