BJP president Nadda tests positive for Covid-19

Chennai: BJP National president JP Nadda has tested positive for Covid-19.

Sharing the news in Hindi on his Twitter account on Sunday, Nadda said, ‘My condition is alright and I am following all instructions after going for home isolation on the advice of doctors. I request everyone who got in touch with me in the last few days to isolate themselves and undergo test’.

He also stated that he had tested himself after experiencing symptoms. Nadda had visited States like Uttarakhand and West Bengal in the last few weeks, it may be recalled.

His convoy was pelted with stones last week by alleged Trinamool Congress workers at Sirakol, where he had gone to address a rally.

All BJP leaders in the convoy had been injured in the attack, except Nadda as he was in a bullet-proof car, sources said.

Ever since the lockdown was announced in March, several politicians in India have contracted the Coronavirus.

These include Home Minister Amit Shah, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and many others.
