TN CM hikes subsidy for construction of houses

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami with 11 students of Chennai Corporation schools, who got MBBS seats due to the recent reservation implemented by the Tamilnadu government for students from State-run institutions.

Chennai: Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami today announced that the State government subsidy for construction of houses under Prime Minister Housing Scheme has been increased to Rs 2,75,040.

In a statement here, he said that the decision has been taken as people are finding it difficult to completed the construction of houses due to increase in price of building materials due to the coronavirus pandemic.

He said that addtional funds of Rs 1805.48 crore has been alloted by the government for this purpose.

Palaniswami also said that about 2,50,000 people will be benefitted by this.
