AAP takes a dig at Rahul Gandhi’s new year tweet

Chennai: The Aam Aadmi Party on Friday took a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, by responding to the latter’s tweet wishing everyone a happy new year.

Gandhi who is on a personal visit to Italy, tweeted, “As the new year begins, we remember those who we lost and thank all those who protect and sacrifice for us. My heart is with the farmers and labourers fighting unjust forces with dignity and honour. Happy new year to all.”

For this, the official handle of the AAP replied, ‘Are you back from Milan?’

Earlier, the Congress leader had come under criticism for his frequent trips abroad.

His latest one was however defended by party colleague Randeep Surjewala who said, “Rahul Gandhi has gone out on a short personal visit to meet up with an ailing relative, who is seriously sick. He has not gone out on a holiday. He also meets up with his maternal grandmother this time of the year, every year. I don’t think the BJP should have objections to him visiting an ailing relative”.
