Chennai: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to visit Chennai to attend the anniversary function of Tughlak magazine on 14 January.

This is his second visit in a month, as he had come here on 5 December for a two-day visit.

It has been informed that Shah will meet RSS ideologue and Thuglak editor S Gurumurthy, apparently to discuss BJP’s chances in the upcoming State assembly polls.

Shah is also likely to meet actor Rajinikanth to enquire about his health. The superstar had announced his decision to drop out of politics, a week ago.

The senior BJP leader’s visit is expected to cause ripples in political circles and in the party’s existing alliance with AIADMK, even as it is speculated that the central leadership is not happy with Edappadi Palaniswami being projected as the CM candidate.

In his last time here, Shah laid foundation stones for projects worth Rs 67,000 crore and the alliance between the AIADMK and BJP was reassured on the same day by AIADMK coordinator O Panneerselvam.
