Japan envoy calls on Prince of Arcot

Chennai: The Consul General of Japan in Chennai, Taga Masayuki, called on the Prince of Arcot, Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali, at his ancestral home in Chennai on 6 January.

A press release said, the Prince of Arcot was delighted to receive the Consul General at his official and historic residence.

He praised Japan, for its tremendous development in various sectors, particularly in electronic technology and for having conquered the entire world market with their products. He also commended Japan and its citizens for their mannerism and etiquettes.

During their discussions, the Prince emphasised and said that “the world is better, if we are united together” and we should respect the sentiments of all faiths and live in peace and harmony and meet the aspirations of millions of men and women for a better world – a world of justice and peaceful co-existence of all communities.

The Consul General expressed his happiness for having met the Prince of Arcot and his heir-apparent and Dewan, Nawabzada Mohammed Asif Ali. He thanked the Prince for his warm welcome and said he was glad to have visited.

The Prince of Arcot hosted tea in honour of the visiting dignitary and offered a shawl and a memento to him.
