TASMAC earns Rs 416 cr during Bhogi, Pongal

Chennai: Pongal festival witnessed tipplers across the State flocking to the thousands of government-owned liquor outlets, pushing sales to nearly Rs 416 crore. Of this, Rs 147 crore sales was done on 13 January on Boghi and Rs 269 crore was done on 14 January during Pongal.

Sources said that highest sale was seen in Tiruchi with Rs 56 crore, followed by Madurai with RS 55 crore.

Chennai, Salem and Coimbatore had sales of Rs 54 crore, Rs 53 crore and Rs 50 crore respectively. It may be noted that TASMAC had a sales of Rs 610 crore in three days during Pongal 2020.
