Chennai: Tamilnadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, opposition DMK President M K Stalin and political leaders hailed India’s historic 2-1 series win against Australia at Brisbane.

On the final day of the fourth and last test, India breached the Gabba fortress, where Australia remained undefeated for the last three decades–with a sensational three wicket win to retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

In a tweet, Palaniswami congratulated the Indian team for its historic series win despite the absence of several star players.

“The key role played by three players from Tamilnadu in the series win is even more happier,” he added.

Stalin, in a tweet said, “congratulations to Team India for their fantastic Test Series victory in Australia.”

“The final match exemplified the importance of team work with every player contributing to this historic win,” he said.

“Delighted to see the brilliant performance of our young players! #INDvsAUS,” Stalin said.

Former Union Minister and PMK leader Dr Anbumani Ramadoss also hailed the victory and said the nation was proud of this young, brave and resilient team’s extraordinary performance.

In a tweet, he said, “congratulations to the Team India for the historic win in Australia winning the Border-Gavaskar series”.

“The nation is proud of this young, brave & resilient Indian Cricket Team’s extraordinary performance and I wish them same success in future. #INDvsAUS,” he said.
