What’s in store at Virginia this year


Chennai: Virginia Tourism Corporation offers a sneak peek into what travel-lovers can expect from Virginia this year.

The Crozet Blue Ridge Tunnel will be opened, National women memorial will be unveiled, and a host of other markets and hotels, along with Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, are set to be opened.

Travellers can now easily get to Northern Virginia, thanks to the Silver Line Metrorail extension that opens in 2021, said a press release.

Apart from this, the debut of The Capital One Center, baseball games at the new Fredericksburg Nationals Stadium and Fredericksburg Expo, a taste of the Mediterranean with Barca Wine Bar + Pier, the Apex Entertainment Virginia Beach, the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center, are much-awaited in the coming months.

1865 Brewing Company, the first Black-owned brewery in Hampton Roads, will open in January 2021, the newly-revamped Natural Bridge Historic Hotel and Conference Center and The Liberty Trust, are other attractions.

Long Way Brewery, The Appalachian Trail Center in Damascus, The Back of the Dragon Welcome Center in Tazewell, are among the various places that could interest a potential tourist, the release added.

Meaningful travel

Marriott International announced the launch of Good Travel with Marriott Bonvoy, a program offering ‘meaningful travel’.

It focus on three distinct pillars: Environmental Protection, Community Engagement and Marine Conservation.
