Chennai: The main opposition DMK today staged a walkout on the first day of the Assembly session.
Speaking to mediapersons outside the Assembly, Leader of the Opposition and party president M K Stalin said that his party walked out of the Assembly as the Governor Banwarilal Purohit’s speech did not have anything about the release of the Rajiv Gandhi convicts.
He also blamed that the Governor did not take any action on the corruption charges against the AIADMK government.
“The Union Budget that was tabled yesterday is in favour of the corporate companies,” he added.
He further said that the DMK will boycott the entire session of the Assembly.
Earlier in the day, DMK MLAs engaged in a verbal argument with the Governor and created ruckus inside the Assembly.
During the argument Banwarilal said that if the DMK does not like his speech, they can walk out of the Assembly and return after five minutes.
