Chennai: Days after a delegation of the PMK, led by its president GK Mani had a day-long discussions with an AIADMK team, headed by Electricity Minister P Thangamani, reports say PMK founder Dr S Ramadoss will meet Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami later today.
Talks would be on providing internal reservation for Vanniyars within the MBC quota.
Despite modifying his demand to ‘internal reservation within MBC quota’ from the original demand for 20 per cent separate reservations for Vanniyars, Dr Ramadoss recently said the Chief Minister had not responded and that the PMK would take a political decision regarding continuing in the AIADMK alliance for the upcoming election.
It should be noted that before demanding sub-quota reservation for Vanniyars, the PMK asked for a caste-wise census in the State. Agreeing to the demand, Palaniswami constituted a committee headed by retired Madras High Court judge A Kulasekaran to carry out a caste-wise survey.
