New Delhi: Farmers agitating at the Singhu border against the Centre’s farm laws have started strengthening the infrastructure at the protest site to prepare for a long haul.
Samyukta Kisan Morcha leaders, who are leading the protest, have reiterated to continue the agitation indefinitely till the government scraps the three farm laws and extends a legal guarantee of the minimum support price (MSP) for crops.
Farmers’ leader Darshan Pal said SKM discussed the various programmes between 12 and 18 February.
Farmers have also announced a four-hour nationwide rail blockade on 18 February as they renewed their strategy to intensify their agitation, which also included a candle march on 14 February in the memory of those killed in the 2019 Pulwama terrorist attack.
Earlier this month, the protesting farmers had observed a three-hour road blockade to press their demand of repealing the three laws.
