CM lays foundation stone for Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple

Chennai: Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami today laid the foundation stone for the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Ulundurpet in Kallakurichi district.

Along with Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Chairman Y V Subba Reddy, Law Minister C Ve Shanmugam and Industries Minister M C Sampath, Palaniswami participated in rituals as a prelude to the construction of the temple.

As Vedic scholars chanted mantras, Palaniswami and Subba Reddy performed the rituals.

It may be recalled that Ulundurpet MLA R. Kumaraguru had recently handed over documents for four acres of land and Rs 3.16 crore to TTD for the construction of the temple.

MLA and TTD Trust Board member from Tamilnadu, Kumaraguru has also donated Rs one crore towards the construction of Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in his constituency at Ulundurpet.

Only recently, Subba Reddy along with Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham pontiff Vijayendra Saraswati laid the foundation stone for Goddess Padmavathi Ammavari temple at Chennai.
