Chennai: The Sarvadesa Hindu Maha Sabhaa (SHMS) has announced that it would support the ruling AIADMK-led front in the 6 April Tamilnadu Assembly polls.
SHMS international president Dr S Subbiah Pandian told reporters here that the decision to support the AIADMK front was unanimous.
He said the SHMS would also campaign for the AIAMDK-BJP alliance in all the constituencies to ensure continuance of the present regime.
Dr Subbiah Pandian also put forth some of the key demands of SHMS and urged the Central and the State governments to fulfil them.
His demands include priests working in Hindu temples across the country should be given jobs under the HR and CE department and monthly wages should be paid to them.
He also demanded creation of an Integrated Child Protection Scheme using the earnings from all the Hindu temples in the country, teach them Vedas in Veda Patasalas and provide them jobs in temples.
While the governments to ensure that temple lands should not be given to private people, Dr Subbiah Pandian said CCTV cameras should be installed in all the temples in the country.
He also demanded that all the places of worships of Muslims and the Churches of Christians should be integrated and brought under the purview of the HR and CE department which administers all the Hindu temples.
