New Delhi: There seems to no stopping for Coronavirus in India, as the cases continue to increase day-by-day. With 39,726 infections, the country saw its highest single-day rise being recorded so far this year.
According to Union Health Ministry data released this mornig, the nationwide Covid-19 tally has reached 1,15,14,331. The death toll increased to 1,59,370 with 154 daily new fatalities, the data said.
Registering an increase for the ninth day in a row, the total active caseload has reached 2,71,282 and the number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 1,10,83,679.
India’s Covid-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on 7 August, 30 lakh on 23 August, 40 lakh on 5 September and 50 lakh on 16 September. It went past 60 lakh on 28 September, 70 lakh on 11 October, crossed 80 lakh on 29 October, 90 lakh on 20 November and surpassed the one-crore mark on 19 December.
According to ICMR, 23,13,70,546 samples have been tested up to 18 March with 10,57,383 samples being tested on Thursday.
