Chennai: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Tamilnadu and Puducherry today, tight security arrangements are in place in the State and the Union Territory.
Modi will address an election meeting at Dharapuram from where BJP State unit president L Murugan is contesting the 6 April Assembly elections.
Modi, who launched the party campaign in Tamilnadu on 25 February, is expected to arrive at the city airport at 10.20 am and leave by helicopter for Dharapuram in Tirupur district.
Thousands of BJP cadre from Coimbatore and Tiruppur districts are expected to participate in the public meeting.
Security has been tightened in view of the visit of Modi to Puducherry. After addressing election rallies in support of BJP candidates and candidates of alliance parties, the Prime Minister is returning back to Delhi tonight.
