Chennai: Amid a sharp surge in Covid-19 cases in the State, it is speculated that the Tamilnadu government would announce more curbs today.
Sources said the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) is likely to introduce stricter curbs to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
GCC Commissioner G Prakash recently expressed confidence that with the newer and more stringent curbs, the number of Covid-19 cases in the city can be brought under control by the end of April.
For a little over a month, Tamilnadu has been registering a surge in fresh coronavirus infections. While a combination of factors are at play, experts strongly believe that a blanket lockdown is nowhere near a solution; rather strict regulations and restrictions tailored to local situations are the way ahead.
