Stalin declares journalists as frontline workers

Chennai: DMK president M K Stalin, who is gearing up to assume charge as the Chief Minister of Tamilnadu, has declared media professionals in the State as ‘frontline workers’, fulfilling a year long demand of journalists.

In a tweet, Stalin said that the members of the media who work hard irrespective of the weather and the pandemic will be considered frontline workers.

‘The entitlements and support that are being provided to frontline workers will be provided to the members of the media as well,’ he tweeted in Tamil,’ he added.

Following this announcement, various media organisations have been expressing gratitude to Stalin.
