Chennai: Industry bodies have given suggestions to Chief Minister M K Stalin to put the State back on track from Covid impact.
The Southern India Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SICCI) has said the first priority rightfully for Stalin would be to bring back normalcy and stability to the State in this devastating Covid scenario.
SICCI requested the CM to provide adequate Working Capital support to companies to prevent them from collapsing due to their reducing incomes, allow companies to reduce workforce so that they can survive, relax several Factories Acts rules that would allow companies to reduce costs and continue to sustain, coordinate with the Central government agencies for faster clearances of exports and imports shipments, so that companies do not face any delay and request Income Tax Department to release all refunds and dues immediately, while also resolving pending cases without further delay.
The Consortium of Indian Associations has requested the CM to provide exemption from EB minimum charges, to pay Rs 6000 per month for six months as stipend to graduates from Tamilnadu colleges who are unemployed and belong to a family with income less than Rs 15,000 per month, to undergo internship at MSME units, permission to allow vaccinated employees to move freely for working, urge banks to provide moratorium without interest to MSMEs, postponement from payment of various taxes etc.
