New Delhi: With 3,26,098 fresh infections, India’s Coronavirus caseload rose to 2,43,72,907 today.
According to Union Health Ministry data uploaded this morning, the country’s total Covid-19 death toll increased to 2,66,207 with 3,890 fresh fatalities.
The active cases have reduced to 36,73,802 and the number of people who have recovered from the disease has increased to 2,04,32,898.
India’s Covid-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on 7 August last year, 30 lakh on 23 August, 40 lakh on 5 September and 50 lakh on 16 September. It went past 60 lakh on 28 September, 70 lakh on 11 October, crossed 80 lakh on 29 October, 90 lakh on 20 November and surpassed the one-crore mark on 19 December last year.
The country”s case tally crossed the two-crore mark on 4 May. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, 31,30,17,193 samples have been tested up to 14 May with 6,93,093 samples being tested on Friday.
The Health Ministry stressed that more than 70 per cent of the deaths occurred due to comorbidities.
