Chennai: Expelled AIADMK interim general secretary V K Sasikala has said in a recent telephonic conversation that she did not favour any move to disqualify O Panneerselvam and 10 other rebel legislators from the Assembly in February 2017.
Meanwhile, seeking to play down Sasikala’s purported interaction with party workers, AIADMK co-coordinator K Palaniswami said her telephonic conversations will not impact the 1.5 crore cadre-based organisation.
Making it clear she is no longer with the AIADMK since her expulsion in 2017, the former Chief Minister said there has been an ‘overreaction’ to her speaking to a few party members.
Speaking to the media, he said, “She is not with the AIADMK and has no contact with the party. Not just 10, let her interact with 1,000 persons, the 1.5 crore cadre strong AIADMK will not be affected.”
Post the AIADMK’s poll defeat, Sasikala has released over 100 audio clips in the last month in a bid to establish that she is the only one who can unite the party.
