Chennai: Petrol prices saw a rise in prices again by 31 to 39 paise again today, taking it to a historic high. However, the diesel rates remain unchanged.
In the last two months, petrol prices increased by 34 times and diesel prices saw a surge in prices 33 times.
After today’s revision, petrol price in Delhi stands at Rs 99.90 a litre. In Mumbai, petrol is all set to touch all-time high Rs 106. Petrol also nears Rs 100-per-litre mark in Kolkata. With latest revision, the price of petrol increased to Rs 100.78 per litre in Chennai.
While fuel rates of state-run Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) in Delhi are the benchmark for the entire country, retail prices of the two fuels differ from place to place because of variations in state taxes and local levies.
