Tokyo: Australia’s Ariarne Titmus won her latest battle with American Katie Ledecky as she set a Games record in the women’s 200m freestyle in Tokyo.
Titmus, who beat Ledecky in the 400m freestyle final on Monday, touched home in one minute 53.50 seconds.
Defending champion Ledecky finished fifth but claimed her sixth Olympic gold medal an hour later.
She cruised to a dominant victory in the 1500m freestyle, her favoured event.
Ledecky led from the start, finishing in 15:37.34 before congratulating her team-mate Erica Sullivan, who took silver.
