Stalin bats for Tamil, urges officials to use modern tech

Chennai: Chief Minister M K Stalin has directed officials to take up measures for development of Tamil and new initiatives and modern technologies to spread the use of Tamil among Tamils living abroad and other States.

He said this while speaking at a review meeting with Tamil Development and Information department.

According to an official release, the Chief Minister reviewed the activities, including creation of new words for higher education, including technical education, and observing 12 October as Classical Tamil Language Day.

He also discussed about exerting pressure on the Union government to declare Thirukkural as a national literary work, and creating Tamil Chairs in universities across the globe.
