TN to up focus on 11 districts, train staff for 3rd wave

Chennai: Tamilnadu Health Minister M Subramanian has directed the department to immediately start micromanaging operations in the 11 districts of the State that have detected slight increase in fresh Covid cases.

According to sources, a high-level meeting of district administrators, health officials, revenue and police officials was held online on Tuesday to take the stock of the situation in these 11 districts.

Meanwhile, Tamilnadu health secretary Dr J Radhakrishnan has said the State government is planning to vaccinate the people from the most vulnerable sections of the society against the Covid-19 soon, adding the healthcare workers would also be trained to cope up with the third wave of the pandemic.

“Doctors and nurses would be trained to cope with the possible third wave and already the infrastructure at all the paediatric wards in the government hospitals across the state have been upgraded,” he said.
