Chennai: Tamilnadu unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday expelled party member and YouTuber Madan Ravichandran, along with his associate G Venba, a day after they released a video of State general secretary KT Raghavan’s alleged sexually explicit chat with a woman.
It is being speculated that Madan would release more videos of party leaders in the days to come. “While releasing Raghavan video itself, Madan had said he would release more. Now that he is expelled from the party too, he is expected to release them soon,” sources said.
“Madan and Venba have been removed from their party posts for releasing videos that go against the ideals of the party. Therefore we ask administrators and party cadres not to have any interaction with them in matters related to the party,” said a party statement Wednesday.
The statement also said that Madan Ravichandran and Venba have met Tamilnadu BJP President K Annamalai and said that they will work with the investigative committee set up by the party to be led by party State secretary Malarkodi.
On Tuesday, Madan had released a controversial video in social media, purportedly showing Raghavan in an explicit video call with a woman. Raghavan, who announced his resignation on Twitter, denied his involvement in the video and claimed it was meant to tarnish his image and also that of the party.
