Chennai: The Income Tax Department has told the Madras High Court that the case filed against VK Sasikala, aide of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, in connection with I-T due of Rs 48 lakh could not be withdrawn.
The Department has informed the High Court that the fine amount cannot be dropped in the case against Sasikala.
The Income Tax Department has informed that the fine cannot be dropped as Sasikala was convicted in a criminal case.
