Rahul Gandhi begins 2-day Jammu trip

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi started his two-day Jammu visit today for which his itinerary includes a walk to the famous Vaishno Devi Temple.

This is Rahul’s second visit to Jammu and Kashmir within a month; he was in Srinagar on 9 and 10 August when he inaugurated the party’s new office in the city.

Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee president Ghulam Ahmed Mir said Rahul has special faith in the holy temple and he wanted to visit Vishno Devi Temple for the past many years.

“Rahul Gandhi has made his mind that he will walk on foot from Katra to the temple, pay obeisance, and participate in the Arti. The next day he will again come down on foot. He has special faith in Mata Vishno Devi,” he added.
