Chennai: Chief Minister M K Stalin has issued orders to withdraw 868 cases registered against those who had staged peaceful protests opposing the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) and State-run Tasmac shops.
Stalin has directed the police officials to withdraw 446 cases filed against NEET protestors and 422 cases filed against people for opposing operation of TASMAC outlets.
Ever since NEET, the National Eligibility and Entrance Test for admission to medical colleges, was made mandatory in 2017, the State has been witnessing a succession of protests against it with various groups of people expressing their opposition to it.
