Chennai: Chief Minister M K Stalin, actor Kamal Haasan, politicians, film personalities, fans and people from various walks of life paid tributes to legendary actor Sivaji Ganesan on his 93rd birth anniversary today.
Stalin visited Sivaji memorial in the city and paid floral tribtues. He also interacted with family members of the actor, incuding sons Ramkumar and Prabhu.
Kamal Haasan took to Twitter to share a throwback photo with Sivaji and remembered him. His tweet in Tamil is loosely translated as, ‘He saw the pinnacle of performing arts. He became the golden age of cinema. He still lives in the hearts of the people. Sivaji Ganesan has been an actor for ages. My prayers on his birthday.’
Meanwhile, Google has celebrated the life and works of Sivaji Ganesan with a doodle. The Doodle was created by Bengaluru-based artist Noopur Rajesh Choksi. On this day in 1928, Sivaji Ganesan was born as Ganesamoorthy in Villupuram. At a young age of 7, he left home and joined a theatre group, where he started playing child and female roles and then went on to play lead roles.
