Chennai: A court in Srivilliputhur has issued an arrest warrant against BJP leader H Raja in connection with a case against him for using abusive language against officials of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments department and their family members.
After Raja failed to appear before the court on Thursday though a summons was issued to him, Judicial Magistrate (II), V Paramveer, issued a warrant.
Earlier, Assistant Commissioner Hariharan had lodged a complaint against Raja stating that he had used abusive language against HR and CE department officials and their family members.
Meanwhile, Raja and actor-turned-politician Khushbu Sundar were appointed as special invitees to the national executive of the BJP.
Senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan has been appointed as a member of the party’s national executive committee.
