Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi

Chennai: This year, there will be no quarterly or half-yearly exams for students of Classes 10, 11 and 12 in Tamilnadu. ‘We are considering having a combined exam for these students in December instead’, said School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi.

Mahesh Poyyamozhi said the board examination would be held in March as usual. The School Education Department is gearing up for the reopening of schools for classes one to eight. Primary and middle school students have not attended in-person classes since March 2020.

‘There will be surprise inspections by teams, once the schools reopen, to check whether all the safety protocols are being followed,’ Mahesh Poyyamozhi said.

After chairing a review meeting with regard to the opening of schools for the students from classes one to eight, the Minister said, ‘situation does not arise to conduct both quarterly and half-yearly exams for those students.’
