Chennai: As the Tamilnadu government allowed reopening of all the religious places in the State for devotees on weekends, BJP State president K Annamalai welcomed the decision of reopening of temples and other religious places.
‘The BJP has been demanding the reopening of all religious places in the state and staged a protest on 7 October. We had told the State government to take a decision on reopening of religious places within 10 days or face the protest from the party. Now, the State has decided to reopen the religious places, the BJP welcomes the decision,’ he said in a statement.
A few days ago, Annamalai met Governor RN Ravi and alleged that the state, under the rule of the DMK was facing a breakdown of law and order.
On Wednesday, he alleged that the State Election Commission indulged in political bias favouring the ruling DMK in the recently concluded rural local bodies polls in nine newly carved out districts.
