Brutal killing at farmers’ protest: Nihang surrenders

New Delhi: In a shocking incident, the body of a man with hand chopped off and marks of at least 10 wounds caused by sharp-edged weapons was found tied to a barricade at a farmers’ protest site at on the outskirts of Delhi. The incident was reported at the Singhu border on Friday.

Following this, Saravjit Singh, a member of the warrior Sikh order ‘Nihang’ surrendered claiming responsibility for the murder, and was arrested.

Nirvair Khalsa-Udna Dal admitted to killing the man and said he was killed for allegedly committing ‘sacrilege’.

Meanwhile, the umbrella body of over forty farmers’ unions, Samyukta Kisan Morcha, distanced itself from the incident and the BJP slammed farmer leaders over the incident that took place near their protest site.
