NCB busts drug syndicate in TN, 3 arrested

Chennai: Officials of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Madurai sub zone have busted a drug syndicate with the seizure of hashish oil and the arrest of three people in Pudukottai district.

NCB Zonal Director, Chennai Zone, Amit Ghawate in a release here said on the basis of specific intelligence, the officers of NCB, Madurai Sub Zone intercepted a domestic courier parcel suspected to contain Hashish
oil at Pudukkottai on Saturday.

After prolonged surveillance was maintained for the receiver of this parcel, and two people, both residents of Pudukkottai, who came to receive the parcel were apprehended.

On examination of the parcel, 620 gm of hashish oil was recovered and seized.

Preliminary enquiries with them revealed that the main receiver was from Coimbatore. He too was apprehended yesterday at Coimbatore. Subsequent searches in the house of kingpin resulted in the recovery of 21.48 gm
hashish and 221 gm of magic mushroom honey (psilocybin, which has an intoxification effect.).

They have confessed of trafficking drugs for distribution of the same in Pudukkottai and other parts of South India.
