Chennai: Issusing rainfall alert, weather experts have said that moderate to heavy rainfall is expected over entire Tamilnadu and Puducherry from 29 to 31 October.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) Director General of Chennai S Balachandran has said, ‘Moderate rainfall is expected over entire Tamilnadu and Puducherry from 29-31 October, fishermen warning also issued.’
The IMD said in its latest bulletin that a low-pressure area has formed over central parts of South Bay of Bengal with the associated cyclonic circulation extending up to 5.8 km above mean sea level. It is likely to move westwards during the next three days, the weather department added.
Thunderstorm and lightning is very likely over Kerala and Mahe and Tamilnadu, Puducherry and Karaikal 27-31 October; over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during 28-31 October and over coastal and south interior Karnataka during 30-31 October.
