Chennai: Dadasaheb Phalke award winner and actor Rajinikanth, who was admitted to a private hospital here late Thursday night, underwent a carotid artery revascularisation procedure on Friday.
Sources said he is recovering well and is likely to be discharged in a day or two.
A medical bulletin issued by the hospital said Rajinikanth was admitted to the hospital following an episode of giddiness. He was thoroughly evaluated by the expert panel of doctors and was advised to undergo carotid artery revascularisation.
‘The procedure was performed successfully and he is recovering well’, the hospital said.
Earlier, Tamilnadu Health Minister Ma Subramanian said Rajinikanth was fine and is likely to be discharged in a day or two.
