14 CMRL stations receive IGBC’s Platinum Rating

2,528 school students travel in Metro in Feb

In an attempt to bring awareness to government school students about Metro Rail in city, Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has been undertaking monthly educational trips from Central Metro to Airport, AG-DMS to Airport and AG-DMS to Washermenpet. A CMRL spokesperson, said, ‘In February, a total of 2,528 students travelled in Metro during the academic year 2018-19. Since the commencement of the trips from June last year, a total of 28,838 students from government schools have utilised these trips. Metro rail services to Washermanpet to commence soon after trial run

“The phase one extension project that links Washermanpet with Tiruvottiyur and Wimco Nagar will be open for public by June 2020.
