The Madras High Court today refused to stay the probe by Justice (retd) A Arumughaswamy commission on the medical treatment given to former Tamilnadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa at Apollo Hospitals. The Court directed the State government and the Commission to file their counter affidavits by Friday to writ petitions filed by Apollo.
Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami today announced that families below poverty line will be given special fund of Rs 2, 000.
Making the announcement under Rule 110 on the second day of the Budget session at the Assembly today, the Chief Minister said Rs 1,200 crore has been allocated for this purpose.
