BJP will gain If Vijay aligns with DMK’s policies: Annamalai

State BJP president K. Annamalai stated that actor Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) “adopting” DMK’s policies would ultimately benefit the BJP by increasing its support and vote base in Tamil Nadu.
Speaking to reporters in Trichy during a family wedding of a senior BJP functionary, Annamalai said, “If Vijay backs DMK’s policies, we have no problems as BJP’s politics will become stronger. If Vijay aligns with policies of DMK, the support and votes to BJP will grow in Tamil Nadu.”
Annamalai acknowledged the differing views on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), describing it as healthy politics. He criticized the state government’s “inaction” on curbing the brewing of illicit arrack, calling it a “gross failure.” Annamalai also mentioned that the Vikravandi bypoll would reflect the public’s dissatisfaction with the DMK’s governance.
Taking a jab at AIADMK, Annamalai said, “AIADMK’s withdrawal from the by-poll proves their support for DMK’s victory.”
Meanwhile, TN BJP spokesman A. N. S. Prasad criticized Vijay for his speech against NEET, terming it “political opportunism.”
