Another convincing win for Men in Blue


In a commanding display of skill and strategy, India’s Shubman Gill led his team to a crucial 23-run victory over Zimbabwe in the third T20I, propelling India to a 2-1 lead in the five-match series. After a narrow loss in the series opener followed by a dominant win in the second T20I, India continued their momentum in Harare with a formidable performance.
Batting first, India set a challenging target of 182-4 in their allotted 20 overs, thanks to an impressive innings by Shubman Gill, who scored 66 runs off 49 balls. Gill’s knock included seven boundaries and three sixes, providing a solid foundation alongside Ruturaj Gaikwad, who contributed a quickfire 49 off 28 balls. Zimbabwe, in response, managed 159-6, with Dion Myers top-scoring with an unbeaten 65 off 49 deliveries.

India’s victory was significantly aided by Washington Sundar’s superb bowling performance, claiming 3-15 in his four overs. His crucial breakthroughs in the middle overs disrupted Zimbabwe’s chase, ensuring India maintained control despite a late surge from the hosts.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s inclusion proved instrumental as he partnered with Gill in a pivotal 67-run opening stand, setting the tone for India’s victory. The match also highlighted contributions from other key players like Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube, essential members of India’s recent T20 World Cup triumph.
