Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Sekarbabu has stated that legal action will be initiated against singer Isai Vani, following her controversial song. The minister mentioned that consultations with legal experts are underway to determine the appropriate steps to address the issue.
Sekarbabu made the statement during an event at the Muthukumaraswamy Temple in Kandhakottam, where he distributed spiritual journey bags to 200 senior citizens participating in the “Arupadai Veedu” pilgrimage. He officially launched the program, which aims to support the spiritual journeys of the elderly with government aid.
In his address, the minister also spoke about the free spiritual journeys organized for senior citizens under the government’s sponsorship. A trip to the holy Mount Kailash in China is being offered to 500 people, with a subsidy of ₹50,000 per person, while another 500 will be given ₹20,000 each for a pilgrimage to Muktinath in Nepal.
Next February, 406 senior citizens will be sent on an 11-day pilgrimage to various temples at a total cost of ₹1.05 crore, the second year of the “Arupadai Veedu” spiritual journey program. In total, 1,008 seniors will complete the pilgrimage by March. The government has allocated ₹1.58 crore for this initiative.
