Hemant Soren, the leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand today (November 28). The ceremony was attended by prominent leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Udhayanidhi Stalin, Mamata Banerjee, and others.
The elections for Jharkhand’s 81 assembly constituencies were conducted in two phases on November 20 and 23. The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha emerged as the largest party, securing 34 seats. The Congress won 16 seats, while the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) claimed four. Following the results, Hemant Soren met Governor Santosh Kangwa and staked his claim to form the government.
With the Governor’s approval, Soren has taken charge as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand for the third time.
The swearing-in ceremony witnessed the presence of several senior leaders, including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav.
