The second shooting schedule of the highly anticipated action film Arasan, directed by Vetrimaaran and starring Silambarasan (Simbu) in the lead, has officially commenced in Chennai. Producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu confirmed the update during an event, highlighting that filming is progressing well and Simbu has been punctual on set.The shoot follows the completion of the film’s first schedule in Kovilpatti, which wrapped up on December 21, 2025. Crew members say the team plans to capture key scenes across various locations in the city, with filming expected to intensify from January 20 onwards.
Arasan has generated significant excitement in Tamil cinema, marking the first collaboration between Vetrimaaran and Simbu, and featuring a strong supporting cast including Vijay Sethupathi and Andrea Jeremiah, who reprises her role from Vada Chennai. The film is produced under the V Creations banner, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, and is set in the same universe as Vada Chennai, adding to fan anticipation.
