Nadda nominates delegation for TN amid action against BJP workers

Amidst escalating tensions between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) in Tamil Nadu, a four-member delegation has been dispatched to the southern state to probe alleged violations by the DMK government. Led by former Chief Minister of Karnataka and BJP leader DV Sadananda Gowda, the delegation comprises Satya Pal Singh, a Member of Parliament, D Purandeswari, the state president of Andhra Pradesh BJP, and PC Mohan, also a Member of Parliament.

The conflict between the two political parties escalated following the arrest of Tamil Nadu BJP members on charges of spreading false allegations against the Tamil Nadu government. The BJP’s national president initiated this move in response to mounting concerns about the treatment of BJP workers by the Tamil Nadu government.
In a statement released from the BJP headquarters in New Delhi, it was announced that the delegation’s primary objective is to investigate the alleged brutal and irrational behavior exhibited by the Tamil Nadu government. Their findings will be compiled into a report and submitted at the earliest opportunity.
Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai expressed confidence that the delegation’s investigation will shed light on what he views as excessive use of power and authoritarian behavior by the DMK government, which has been in power since May 2021. Annamalai accused the DMK government of exhibiting “fascist tendencies” and claimed that Tamil Nadu BJP’s social media functionaries have faced constant harassment and unjustified arrests, often instigated by local DMK functionaries. He further alleged that the police have been pressured to make these arrests, purportedly to satisfy the egos of corrupt DMK ministers.
