HC closes case against actor Dhanush

The Madras High Court has closed a petition filed against actor Dhanush concerning a property dispute in Poes Garden, Chennai, after the parties involved reached an amicable settlement. Justice C.V. Karthikeyan presided over the case, which was brought by Ajay Kumar Lunawath and Heema Lunawath, who sought an interim injunction to prevent Dhanush from interfering with their peaceful possession of the property under tenancy.

The plaintiffs, Ajay Kumar Lunawath and Heema Lunawath, presented a memorandum of compromise before the court, indicating that the issue had been resolved amicably. Following this, the court closed the matter. Actor Dhanush participated in the proceedings via video conferencing and agreed to the closure of the case.
The dispute originated when one of the defendants, Nalina Ramalakshmi, rented a house at Poes Garden to the petitioners. The petitioners claimed that on February 5, Dhanush sent some of his aides to the property, asserting his title over it. According to the petitioners, the actor’s aides disconnected the electricity by removing the fuse and threatened them to vacate the premises immediately.
In response to these actions, Ajay Kumar Lunawath and Heema Lunawath filed a petition seeking to restrain Dhanush from interfering with their possession of the property. However, while the case was still pending, the petitioners vacated the property, leading to an amicable resolution of the dispute.
The settlement and subsequent closure of the case bring an end to the legal battle between the parties, with both sides agreeing to resolve their differences without further court intervention.
